Mission to India and The Eynsford Christian
Fellowship
In 1981 Sue Varney - now Sue Muller, a teacher, and a friend of the present
Pastor (John Saunders) went on a years exchange to India, to Pathoncot, in
the Punjab where she discovered a large Mission College belonging to the
Indian Evangelical Team (Pentecostal)
In the following years until 1989 a Church in Rugby supported this Mission
along with several others on a regular basis, with the Mission's President
and Treasurer visiting England. After several invitations to visit the work
at first hand, in 1990 John and Joan Saunders led a team of seven others
(Jim, Jan and Ken Lyon, Sandra Miller, Gordon Matthews, Ann Schofield, and
Helen Lyon), followed by regular Teams in the years that have followed.
In 1994 the Rugby Church (led by John Saunders) was asked to represent the
Indian Evangelical team in England, and then later to represented the Mission
in Europe. The Director of the Mission, Dr P.G. Vargis, on learning about
John's move to be the Pastor of Eynsford Baptist Church asked John to continue
to be responsible for representing the work, which then moved to Eynsford. |
